ردّت المديرية العامة للأمن العام وقيادة الجيش اللبناني على الاتهامات الأميركية التي طالت ضباطاً لبنانيين بتسريب معلومات استخباراتية إلى جهات حزبية، بعد إعلان وزارة الخزانة الأميركية فرض عقوبات على تسعة أشخاص مرتبطين بحزب الله.
وأكد الأمن العام ثقته الكاملة بضباطه وعناصره، مشدداً على التزامهم بالقوانين وولائهم للدولة اللبنانية فقط، مع التأكيد أن أي عنصر يثبت تورطه في تسريب معلومات سيخضع للمساءلة القانونية والقضائية.
بدورها، شددت قيادة الجيش اللبناني على أن العسكريين يؤدون واجباتهم باحتراف وانضباط ووفق توجيهات القيادة، مؤكدة أنها لم تتلقَّ أي معلومات رسمية عبر القنوات المعتمدة بشأن الاتهامات الأميركية، وأن ولاء العسكريين يبقى للمؤسسة العسكرية والوطن حصراً.
وكانت وزارة الخزانة الأميركية قد أعلنت فرض عقوبات على تسعة مسؤولين وشخصيات في لبنان، بينهم مسؤولون في حزب الله وحركة أمل، إضافة إلى ضابطين لبنانيين، بحجة عرقلة عملية السلام ومنع نزع سلاح الحزب
The Lebanese General Security Directorate and the Lebanese Army Command responded to the American accusations targeting Lebanese officers accused of leaking intelligence information to party-affiliated groups, following the U.S. Treasury Department’s announcement of sanctions on nine individuals linked to Hezbollah.
General Security affirmed its full confidence in its officers and personnel, stressing their commitment to the law and loyalty solely to the Lebanese state. It also emphasized that any member proven to be involved in leaking information would face legal and judicial accountability.
For its part, the Lebanese Army Command stressed that military personnel carry out their duties with professionalism and discipline in accordance with leadership directives. It confirmed that it had not received any official information through approved channels regarding the American accusations, and that the loyalty of soldiers remains exclusively to the military institution and the nation.
The U.S. Treasury Department had announced sanctions against nine officials and figures in Lebanon, including members of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, as well as two Lebanese officers, accusing them of obstructing the peace process and preventing Hezbollah’s disarmament.
